The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi proudly commenced the inaugural ceremony of the batch of 2023-25, marking the beginning of an exciting journey for the talented cohort. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Mr. P M Prasad, Chairman and Managing Director, Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), Ranchi along with Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director, IIM Ranchi.
The occasion witnessed an impressive gathering of industry experts, faculty members, and enthusiastic students.
The ceremony commenced with an invocation, setting an aura of positivity and enthusiasm amongst the attendees. Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director, IIM Ranchi, delivered a warm welcome address, extending heartfelt greetings to the incoming batch. He advised the incoming students to be happy, experimental, and logical in their time at IIM Ranchi and also during the rest of their careers. The Director also highlighted the initiatives taken by the Institute in the past few months which reinforce his advices. The Centre of Excellence for Happiness, Human Library, and Human Connect initiatives are all concrete steps in those directions.
Mr. P M Prasad, the distinguished chief guest of the event, delivered an inspiring keynote address that will definitely leave left a lasting impact on the audience. With his vast experience and insightful anecdotes, Mr. Prasad enlightened the students about the dynamic nature of the business landscape and the role they can play in shaping the world of tomorrow.
Mr. Sandeep Gupta, Exec. Director, JPMC; Mr. Sumit Joshi, Deputy Director, DE Shaw; Prof. Pradip Kumar Bala, Dean (Academic Affairs & Development); Prof. Vijaya Dixit, Chairpersons- MBA; Prof. Ankur Jha, Chairpersons- MBA; Prof. Sudhanshu Shekhar, Chairpersons- MBA-HR; Prof. Amit Sachan, Chairpersons (In-charge)- MBA-BA and Prof. Prasenjit Chakrabarti, Chairperson- Doctoral Programme addressed the gathering and shared their perspectives on the significance of a well-rounded management education. They highlighted the importance of holistic learning, innovative thinking, and ethical practices, all of which are pillars of IIM Ranchi's academic curriculum.
As the newest batch at IIM Ranchi commences their MBA journey, the institute looks forward to guiding and nurturing them to become ethical, responsible, and capable leaders. The induction program will also include a series of engaging sessions, mentorship programs, alumni, and industry interactions to prepare the students for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
The induction program has been scheduled for three days and during this, the students will attend various academic activities such as Case Workshop and Management Marathon. They will also have interaction with the Alumni and will be made familiar with the Institute Norms and Regulations, IIM Culture and Spirit, etc.
