BRICS Youth Council Entrepreneurship Pre-Consultations Inaugurated at IIM Jammu

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu, as the institutional partner, in collaboration with the Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, and knowledge partner Global Counter Terrorism Council (GCTC), organized the BRICS Youth Council Entrepreneurship Pre-Consultations on 24th January 2025 at the Mandapam Auditorium, IIM Jammu.The event was graced by the presence of Shri Manoj Sinha, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, as the Chief Guest, and Shri Atal Dulloo, IAS, Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, as the Guest of Honor. The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu.The program aimed to foster innovation and entrepreneurship among youth by providing a platform to exchange ideas, share best practices, and explore opportunities to promote entrepreneurial growth and collaboration across BRICS nations.The event commenced with the arrival of dignitaries, a plantation drive, and a campus tour, followed by the ceremonial lamp-lighting and Saraswati Vandana.The inaugural session featured an audio-visual presentation on IIM Jammu and Mission YUVA, along with discussions on the BRICS Youth Council and its role in global entrepreneurship. The inaugural ceremony culminated with the national anthem followed by the vote of thanks.Present on the occasion were Dr. S.P. Vaid, Former DGP, Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Shahzad Alam, Director, Employment, Jammu and Kashmir, and Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Academics, IIM Jammu along with the faculty, officers and staff of the Institute.
Over 50 startups from Jammu and Kashmir showcased their innovations across diverse sectors, including tourism, food tech, agri-tech, software technology, herbal cosmetics, herbal food supplements, and artificial intelligence. Representatives from Mission YUVA, DST i-TBI, SBDU-IIM Jammu, and STEM-IIIM Jammu actively engaged with participants at their stalls, fostering collaboration and innovation. The BRICS Youth Council Entrepreneurship Pre-Consultations, part of the BRICS Youth Council Entrepreneurship Working Group Meeting Series, concluded successfully under the theme “Youth Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Growth.” The event fostered innovation, collaboration, and sustainable development across BRICS nations, empowering young entrepreneurs to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s progress.IIM Jammu takes immense pride in hosting this impactful platform, continuing its role as a hub for innovation and aligning its initiatives with the aspirations of youth and the region’s development
