BRA Bihar University Hosts Selection Camp for Chancellor Cup Kabaddi Tournament; Vice Chancellor Reaffirms Commitment to Sports Culture

BRA Bihar University (BRABU) recently organized a selection camp in preparation for the upcoming Chancellor Cup Kabaddi Tournament, scheduled to take place from October 15 in Patna. The event saw enthusiastic participation, with over 150 players from 18 colleges competing for a spot on the university's team. The camp provided a platform for athletes to showcase their skills, with coaches and selectors evaluating players on performance, teamwork, and dedication.
Participants underwent various drills and matches, demonstrating agility, strength, and strategic thinking, essential for success in kabaddi. The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm as players vied for the opportunity to represent their colleges and the university.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Chandra Rai personally oversaw the selection trials and emphasized the university’s dedication to fostering a vibrant sports culture. "BRABU is committed to encouraging students to actively participate in sports, and we are implementing various initiatives such as inter-college competitions, access to training facilities, and coaching programs," said Prof. Rai. He further affirmed the university's alignment with national and state-level sports initiatives, ensuring that sports remain a priority on campus.
The selection process concluded with the formation of the university's kabaddi team. Following the trials, a seven-day training camp has been scheduled to fine-tune the team's skills and strategies. Prof. Rai expressed optimism and confidence in the team, noting the talent and dedication displayed during the selection process.
In another sporting event, Vice Chancellor Prof. Rai inaugurated the Inter-College Badminton Tournament at RDS College. Addressing the participants, he emphasized the importance of sports in fostering teamwork, discipline, and personal growth. "Sports not only build physical strength but also enhance mental resilience," Prof. Rai stated, encouraging athletes to give their best and value participation as much as winning.
Dignitaries attending these events included Proctor Prof. BS Rai, Prof. Anita Singh (Principal, RDS College), Dr. Sanjay Sinha (former IAS and mentor of the university's sports council), Dr. Kantesh Kumar Singh, Prof. Gopaljee, Prof. Surendra Rai, College Inspector (Arts) Prof. Rajeev Kumar, Dr. Navin Kumar, Mahendra Prasad, Nutan Kumari, and Sunil Verma, among others.
