A vibrant tapestry of cultures unfolded at Langat Singh College as part of the Kashmiri Youth Exchange Program, organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra. From January 5th to 10th, approximately 140 Kashmiri youths, accompanied by their teachers, are embarking on a journey through North Bihar, immersing themselves in the region's rich heritage.
The program kicked off with a mesmerizing cultural evening in the college auditorium. The air was alive with the sounds of traditional Kashmiri music and dance, captivating the audience with its melodious tunes and graceful movements. In a beautiful display of cultural exchange, the LS College students presented captivating performances showcasing local folk music, creating a harmonious blend of traditions.
Principal Prof. Om Prakash Roy expressed his profound admiration for the program, emphasizing its crucial role in fostering mutual understanding and brotherhood between the two diverse cultures. "Such events," he stated, "cultivate a strong sense of national unity among our youth, empowering them to significantly contribute to the nation's development."
Prof. Roy highlighted that the Kashmiri youth exchange program at Langat Singh College has consistently served as a platform for vibrant cultural exchanges. The visiting youth are provided with comfortable accommodation within the college premises, ensuring a warm and welcoming environment. Daily cultural performances in the college auditorium further enrich the program, culminating on January 10th.
"The primary objective of this cultural exchange," Prof. Roy further emphasized, "is to bring together the diverse cultures of North Bihar and Kashmir on a common platform. By sharing their rich cultural heritage, the Kashmiri youth provide a unique window into their world, while our college students showcase the vibrant tapestry of local folk music and dances. This intermingling of cultures fosters mutual respect and appreciation."
Prior to the cultural evening, the Kashmiri youth embarked on a journey through time at Langat Singh College. They were captivated by the grandeur of its ancient edifices and the serene ambiance of its library. While exploring the college grounds, they delved into the history of the Champaran Satyagraha, gaining a deeper understanding of the college's role in India's freedom struggle.
The event was well-attended by faculty and staff, including Prof. Pushpa Kumari, Prof. Sanjeev Mishra, Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Dr. Shashikant Pandey, Dr. Navin Kumar, Dr. Dhirendra Kumar, Sujit Kumar, Rishi Kumar, and Satyendra Kumar.
