Sanjeev Rai, OSD (Education) to Jharkhand Governor C. P Radhakrishnan,  held an important meeting at Jamshedpur Women’s University to develop Jharkhand’s universities as institutions of excellence.

Varsity vice-Chancellor Anjila Gupta assured that Women’s University will make all efforts on the roadmap presented by the Chancellor to develop universities as excellent institutions in higher education.

Rai put forward nine different dimensions for excellence. First of all, under Vision and Strategy, he discussed the long-term goals from 2023 to 2035 and various strategies to achieve them.

Regarding the learning resource provider, he emphasized on the automation of the university library. He said that a workshop should be organized in the beginning itself for the girl students taking admission so that they can make effective use of the library.

Regarding the website, he said that if the university is a window, then the website is a drawing room, which needs to be updated always. The website must be dynamic and attractive.

Research and innovation is the fourth requirement, for which faculty and girl students should always be ready and a positive environment should be created for this.

On Governance, Leadership and Management, he said that while analyzing at the micro level, achieving big goals can be possible due to effective leadership and management. He emphasized on structural changes in classroom practices, teaching strategies, learning environment etc.

 For Teaching, Learning and Evaluation he linked Teaching Learning and Student Support with learning outcome and told that education is the result of mutual coordination between both teacher and student. Therefore student support is essential to learning success.

On sports and curricular area, he described the co-curricular area as a part of the curricular area, such as considering sports as important along with studies and talked about moving forward.

On theatre and performing arts, he asked to organize workshop in collaboration with NSD and FTII and provide proper platform to the structure of girl students.

To work for excellence in all these dimensions, he also provided two formulas, first communication means communication and collaboration means cooperation.
