IIM Jammu's Education Leadership Training Programme for the College Principals of Jammu and Kashmir (IInd Batch) Concludes on a High Note

The 'Education Leadership Development Training Programme,' conducted by the Executive Education and Consultancy (EE&C) of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu for the second batch of College Principals of Jammu and Kashmir concluded on 2nd Feb 2024, following five intense and knowledge-packed days of sessions. This programme, specially curated for College Principals of Jammu and Kashmir, aimed to equip participants with essential leadership skills to align their vision with contemporary educational trends and the evolving needs of students and the community. The proceedings commenced with the presentation of the Programme Report by Dr. Vedika Saxena, Programme Director. Subsequently, participants shared their compelling narratives, detailing their enriching learning experiences over the course of the last five days.
Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director at IIM Jammu, expressed his delight in joining his peer group of academicians. Focusing on crucial aspects such as cleanliness, youth empowerment, entrepreneurship and the delivery of quality education, he advocated for a paradigm shift toward fostering job creators rather than job seekers. He underscored the importance of dedication and commitment in their respective endeavours, emphasizing the noble nature of the teaching profession. He urged college principals to inspire their students to pursue academic courses in prestigious institutions like IITs and IIMs. Assuring unwavering support, he encouraged everyone to find joy in their work, ensuring that resources should never be a constraint. He highlighted the need for continuous collaboration and emphasized to the participants for politeness in all their interactions, fostering a conducive learning environment.
Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Academics, IIM Jammu, highlighted that the training programme served as a mutual learning experience for all participants. He emphasized that this program does not mark the end but rather the initiation of a new relationship, driven by an appetite for continuous learning, as valuable insights often emerge from challenging experiences. He encouraged all participating colleges to foster collaboration, unite, and actively contribute to nation-building. Furthermore, he underscored the importance of disseminating the knowledge gained from this training programme among their students, thereby ensuring a wider impact on the educational community.
Present on the occasion was Dr. Archana Sharma, Program Director, IIM Jammu. The key objectives of the program included the Implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Enhancing Instructional Leadership, Fostering Effective Communication, Promoting Cultural Competence, Encouraging Innovation and Adaptability, and Instilling Data-Informed Decision-Making Skills.
The valedictory ceremony, held at the IIM Jammu campus, witnessed the distribution of certificates to all the enthusiastic participants who completed the programme.
