The Indian Institute of Management Jammu under the leadership of Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu inaugurated the Management Immersion Programme (Batch-II) for MBA students of IILM University, Gurugram, at its Jagti Campus today. The programme is being conducted under the guidance of the Executive Education and Consultancy (EE&C) division of IIM Jammu to enhance managerial competencies and industry readiness among participants. The training program included 57 students of MBA program from IILM University.  They are accompanied by two faculty members from IILM University, Dr Vikrant Giri, Dr. Poornima Sehrawat, IILM Faculty.  Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Faculty and Research graced the inaugural ceremony. 

The inaugural session took place at the Dronacharya Classroom, Academic Block, IIM Jammu, and commenced with registration and a guided tour of the Academic Block, offering participants an overview of the institute’s world-class infrastructure and learning environment. The inaugural ceremony was graced by Dr. Kulwiinder Kaur; Dr. Apurva Yadav; Dr. Pratik Maheshwari-Co-Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy. Dr. Shreya Rastogi is also the Program Director of this program.

The event commenced with a campus tour for the students and the faculty, offering them an immersive experience of IIM Jammu’s state-of-the-art infrastructure and vibrant learning environment. The inaugural ceremony began with the Lighting of the Lamp, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom.

Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty and Research, IIM Jammu, emphasized that the Management Immersion Program offers a unique opportunity for participants to transform themselves through active participation and commitment. He urged them to give their best throughout the week, both inside and outside the classroom, by coming well-prepared, engaging meaningfully, and making the most of every interaction. He noted that the program has been carefully structured to provide holistic exposure, practical insights, and experiential learning. He encouraged participants to maintain discipline, be punctual, and remain fully focused during sessions to maximize their learning experience. He added that such opportunities are rare and should be utilized wisely. As IIM Jammu celebrates its tenth year, the Institute continues to contribute to policy deliberations, project implementation, in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He urged participants to make full use of this platform to explore their potential and evolve as capable, confident professionals.

Dr. Pratik Maheshwari, Co-Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy (EE&C), IIM Jammu, shared an overview of the key initiatives under EE&C, emphasizing its vital role across all IIMs. He highlighted that IIM Jammu offers a wide range of executive education and training programs, both open and sponsored, designed to enhance managerial capabilities and address emerging business challenges. He encouraged participants to explore the Open Management Development Programs (MDPs) and other certification courses available on the IIM Jammu website, which also confer Alumni Status of the Institute. He further added that IIM Jammu actively collaborates with central and state governments, public sector organizations, and private enterprises to deliver impactful programs. He expressed confidence that participants would find the learning experience enriching and rewarding.

Dr. Kulwinder Kaur, Program Director, IIM Jammu, delivered the welcome address and provided an overview of the five-day Management Immersion Program for Batch 2. She highlighted that the program is designed to promote experiential learning, leadership development, and the cultivation of emotional intelligence among participants. She added that the initiative aligns with IIM Jammu’s vision of developing socially responsible and industry-ready professionals, enabling participants to return with valuable insights and a renewed perspective on management practice.

The session concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks by Dr. Apurva Yadav, Program Director, IIM Jammu who expressed gratitude to IILM University for its collaboration and extended appreciation to faculty coordinators and participants for their enthusiastic support. The inaugural ceremony culminated with the National Anthem followed by a group photograph.

The Management Immersion Programme – Batch II is designed to blend theoretical frameworks with real-world business insights, equipping students with strategic thinking, decision-making, and leadership skills. The programme will include interactive classroom sessions, case discussions, industry insights, and team-based activities during the course of the week. IIM Jammu continues to strengthen its role as a hub for executive and management development, aligning with its vision of excellence in education, research, and outreach.
