The government appointed education secretary Vakati Karuna, the commissioner of collegiate and technical education, as in-charge Vice Chancellor of Telangana University in Nizamabad. TU VC D. Ravinder was arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau while allegedly accepting bribes from a private college owner recently.
With no VC in the chair, the administration at Telangana University had been paralysed. The former VC was released from jail on bail on Thursday and the government appointed Karuna. She is the second IAS officer after C. Parthasarathi to serve as Telangana University VC.
The registrars who worked in the university in the past were also interrogated, and they revealed several important facts. A detailed report was prepared based on these findings and submitted to the government
