Unveiling Ceremony of Dr. Mridula Sinha’s Statue at Langat Singh College

The statue of former Governor of Goa and Padma Shri awardee Dr. Mridula Sinha ji was unveiled in the Bal Udyan located in the campus of Langat Singh College, The chief guest of the unveiling ceremony held in Bal Udyan was Bihar Governor cum Chancellor Shri Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar and was presided over by BRA Bihar University Vice Chancellor Prof Dinesh Chandra Rai.
After the unveiling, a discussion was organized in the college auditorium on the topic of the ' Sahajata Ki Bhawyata'. The program was started by the lighting of lamps by the guests. Welcoming the guests, Principal Prof Omprakash Rai said that Dr Mridula Sinha was such a personality, in whose spontaneity there was an amazing grandeur. She had a special attachment towards Langat Singh College. Prof Rai said that the arrival of the Honorable Governor to the college will not only inspire the students and teachers of the college, but it will also provide positive energy and guidance to the college. The experience and vision of the Governor will help in the further progressive development of the college.
In his address at the discussion, Governor Shri Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, while paying tribute to Dr. Mridula Sinha, said that she was a dedicated writer and litterateur. She used to express her views on various aspects of society through her writings. Her works were important not only from the literary point of view, but also it had positive societal impact . The Governor said that as the Governor of Goa, she set an amazing example of simplicity and public service. She did amazing work for the upliftment of Hindi language and folk culture of Bihar. While living in Goa, she understood the folk culture there and gave it a place in her literature. Governor said that by installing her statue in the college campus, the coming generations will also be able to receive her love and affection. Governor Shri Arlekar said that he received motherly love and blessings from Dr. Mridula Sinha and for me she was a motherly figure.
Former Minister Shri Suresh Kumar Sharma said that her simple and gentle personality is exemplary for everyone. Her inspirational personality has left its mark in the entire society.
In his message, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Chandra Rai said that Dr. Mridula Sinha was a distinguished educationist, writer and social worker who made significant contributions to Indian politics, literature and society. Her role in education and women empowerment has been extremely important. VC Prof. Rai encouraged attendees to draw inspiration from Dr. Sinha's journey and actively participate in societal development. Prof. Rai expressed gratitude to the governor for his presence and highlighted the significance of the event for the college and university community. He reiterated the university’s commitment to upholding the values embodied by Dr. Mridula Sinha and nurturing an environment conducive to learning and growth
The programme was conducted by Dr. Monalisa. The vote of thanks was given by Mr. Naveen Sinha. Minister Renu Devi, Kedar Prasad Gupta, Prof. Taran Rai, Mayor Nirmala Sahu, Prof. Narendra Singh, Prof. Jaikant Singh, Prof. Gopaljee, Prof. Sanjeev Mishra, Prof. Rajiv Jha, Registrar Dr. Anamika Krishna, Dr. Navin Kumar, Dr. Imtiyaz, Sujit Kumar, Rishi Kumar and others were present in the programme.
