Suggestion to convert school buses to CNG: 15 years old diesel vehicles will not run in Patna

DM Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh has directed to ban the operation of 15-year-old school buses, police station jeeps and comfed commercial vehicles. Along with this, instructions have been given to conduct fitness and pollution check of other vehicles running in schools. On Monday, he was having an online meeting with the principal and manager of more than 50 private schools in the city. He has suggested the school principals to convert the school buses to CNG.
So that, diesel buses can be removed from the urban area in the coming time. At the same time, instructions have been given to get fitness of vehicles run by private schools and to get pollution under control certificate. Along with this, school students have been instructed to tell about various measures related to prevention of pollution, so that there is no adverse effect on the health of the children. Patna's AQI stood at 364 on Monday.
Tip: Make people aware
1. Corporation should sprinkle water on all the roads
The DM has instructed the Municipal Corporation to fill maximum water on the roads. At the same time, the Bihar State Pollution Control Board has been requested to provide awareness-related flakes, posters etc. So that more and more people can be made aware.
2. Appeal not to go out without work in peak hour
The DM has appealed to the common people of the city not to leave the house without work during peak hours, to sprinkle water around the houses. So that, during the jam on the roads, the pollution coming out of the vehicles can be reduced.
3. Instructions for covering construction work
The DM has instructed the construction agencies to cover the construction work. At the same time, the District Transport Officer and other concerned agencies have been directed to cover transportation of sand-ballast, municipal corporation to carry garbage etc. and stop burning of garbage at garbage points or other places. Along with this, instructions have been given to remove 15 old vehicles running in COMFED and stop the operation of 15 old jeeps running in police stations.
