SBI Muzaffarpur Sports Festival (Season 2) Commences with Grand Inauguration

The SBI Muzaffarpur Sports Festival (Season 2), a three-day sporting extravaganza organized by Vivekanand Krida Evam Yoga Sansthan, kicked off today at LS College Ground. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from athletes representing over 80 schools across the Muzaffarpur district. Featuring 8 sports and 78 events, the festival will see over 3000 athletes compete for 234 medals, solidifying its position as one of the largest athletic events in the region.
Addressing the athletes, Prof. Dinesh Chandra Rai, Vice-Chancellor of BRA Bihar University, lauded their dedication and sportsmanship. He emphasized the crucial role of sports in overall development, urging the youth to actively participate in such events. Prof. Rai commended Dr. Sanjay Sinha, President of Vivekanand Krida Evam Yoga Sansthan, for successfully organizing back-to-back mega sports festivals in the region. Prof. Rai acknowledged Dr. Sinha's invaluable contributions to the development of sports in the region. "Dr. Sinha, a former national athlete and a distinguished former IAS officer, brings a unique blend of expertise to the field," said Prof. Rai. "His insights both on and off the field are immensely beneficial for aspiring young athletes in this region." Prof. Rai emphasized that Dr. Sinha's leadership has been instrumental in creating a vibrant sporting ecosystem in Muzaffarpur, providing a platform for young talent to flourish.
Prof. Ompraksh Roy, Principal of LS College, commended the organizers, particularly Dr. Sanjay Sinha, IAS (Retd.), President of Vivekanand Krida Evam Yoga Sansthan. He acknowledged the academy's significant role in providing a platform for young athletes to showcase their talent and compete at a high level. Prof. Roy highlighted the numerous career opportunities available in the sports industry, from professional playing to coaching, management, and sports psychology.
Dr. Sanjay Sinha in his address expressed his gratitude to the host, LS College, and the sponsors for their generous support. He expressed confidence that the meet would not only be competitive and exciting but also crucial in discovering and nurturing the next generation of sporting talent in the region.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of several dignitaries, including Shri Prafull Chandra Jha, DGM, State Bank of India, and Shri Sudhanshu Shekhar Ray, Consultant, Bihar State Sports Authority. Both dignitaries addressed the participants and offered words of encouragement.
With the inaugural flag hoisted by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Chandra Rai, the games officially commenced. The SBI Muzaffarpur Sports Festival Season 2 is expected to be a resounding success, creating a vibrant sporting environment and contributing significantly to the development of sports in the region. The functions marked the presence of many dignitaries, former IAS Shri Amitabh kumar, SK Shukla, Dr. Shartendu Shekhar, Dr. Kantesh Kumar, Dr. Navin Kumar, Mahendra Prasad, Sujit Kumar, to mention a few.
