In the present scenario, excellent performance is being given by the girl students in almost all the higher educational institutions, this is a very pleasant change. It is also a reflection of India's progress in building a better society. This statement was given by Her Excellency President of India Smt. Draupadi Murmu as Visitor and Chief Guest during the third convocation ceremony held on October 20, 2023 (Friday) at Central University of South Bihar (CUSB). In his convocation address, Her Excellency the President said that I congratulate all the students of Central University of South Bihar who have received degrees. I especially appreciate the students who gave excellent performance and received gold medals. I have been told that the total number of gold medals for students who have given excellent performance in the convocation is 103, out of which our daughters have won 66 medals. Today, out of the 25 students who came on the stage and received the gold medal from me, 18 were daughters and seven were also students. All the countrymen are proud of the fact that the world's first democratic system flourished on this soil of Bihar. In the last speech of the Constituent Assembly, Baba Saheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar had said that the Constitution has also taken inspiration from the Buddhist empire which was included in the ancient empires. Dr. Sachchidanand Sinha and Dr. Rajendra Prasad along with many other personalities from Bihar have made invaluable contributions in the construction of the Constitution of India and the modern Republic of India. Since ancient times, this land of Bihar has been famous for developing talents. Scholars like Chanakya and Aryabhata made revolutionary contributions in the field of mathematics and science along with the social system, which helped in the development of the entire humanity. In this university also, the school buildings have been named Aryabhatta Bhawan and Chanakya Bhawan, which is quite commendable. The teachers and students of this university are continuously making efforts to conduct world class teaching and research, which is quite praiseworthy. In the end, Her Excellency said that I would like to appeal to the students of the university that in today's era of change, they can play an important role in the development of the country and the world.
In his address, His Excellency Governor Shri Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, who was present at the convocation ceremony as guest of honour, praised CUSB's excellent teaching arrangements and regular session conduct. He said that like the regular session, convocation should also be organized every year and students should be given their degrees on time.
CUSB Vice Chancellor Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh expressed his gratitude to His Excellency the President, Governor Shri Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, CUSB Founder Vice Chancellor Professor Janak Pandey, former Vice Chancellor Professor Harishchandra Singh Rathore and other dignitaries for attending the program and shared his views further. He said that “This land has been the land of knowledge and salvation, in the past there have been universities like Nalanda and Vikramshila which have worked to provide education to the whole world, today South Bihar Central University is established on the same land which is providing education to the country and the world. It is making positive efforts to restore its glorious past by providing education. “Today is an important day for the university and the entire Magadh region,” CUSB Vice Chancellor expressed his happiness.
