The National Testing Agency (NTA) recently released the calendar for 2024. According to it, the NEET UG 2024 will be conducted on May 5, 2024. The application window for the exam will open next year. Once opened, students will be able to register themselves at the official website— neet.nta.nic.in.

What is NEET? Is it equal to MBBS?

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG is the entrance test for admission to undergraduate courses in all medical institutions. Once the student clears NEET, they have to register for counselling either all India quota or state in order to get admission to the government and private medical colleges.

Candidates don’t qualify for admission merely by applying for the exam. They have to secure minimum cut-off marks to be eligible for counselling.

When will NEET UG 2024 be conducted?

Does NEET UG require Class 12 marks?

No, there is no criteria of Class 12 marks needed to appear for NEET. The only criteria being that the candidate should have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or will complete the same on or before December 31 of the year of their admission to the course.

Candidates belonging to Non-Residential Indian (NRI), Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) and foreign nationals category have to show their certificates stating the same from the concerned Indian Diplomatic Mission in the country of their residence in support of their claim. There is no upper age limit for it.

Will NTA change the eligibility criteria of the NEET of the Class 12 percentage in 2024?

How should one prepare for NEET UG 2024?

NEET UG toppers over the years have suggested to thoroughly study from the NCERT textbooks, concentrate on what they are studying and understand it. The toppers also suggest that students should not take too much pressure and give the paper with a calm mind.

What is NEET UG paper pattern?

As per the previous years, the exam is conducted in pen and paper mode for a duration of 3 hours 2o minutes. The paper is divided into four parts— Zoology, Botany, Chemistry and Physics. Each part has two sections— Section A with 35 questions for 140 marks and Section B with 15 questions for 40 marks. The total marks are 720. All questions will be MCQ.

Can I withdraw my NEET application form? Will I get a refund for it?

As per the information bulletin published in 2023, “the examination fee once deposited will not be refunded. The fee will not be carried forward to a future examination.”
