IIM Bodh Gaya organized The Youth Entrepreneurship Summit (YES). Coordinated by the Envision Cell, the entrepreneurship committee of the institute, the event was a platform for insightful discussions, engaging activities, and a spirited competition. More than 400 students attended the event.
Dr. Vinita Sahay, Director of IIM Bodh Gaya, reflected on the significant growth of the campus and emphasized the deliberate initiatives undertaken to cultivate an entrepreneurial ecosystem. This was followed by a lineup of esteemed guests and speakers, including Mr. Sachin Gupte, a distinguished leader in public health and nutrition, Mr. Mario Dominic, co-founder, MD, and CEO at Beez Innovation Labs and Mr. Amit Batra, a seasoned professional at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). While Mr. Gupte highlighted the six fundamental blocks of the health sector, Mr. Dominic captivated the audience by likening entrepreneurship to sports. Mr. Batra emphasized the significance of implementing innovative ideas and staying updated of current trends.
The summit featured a Fun Fiesta, where students and sponsors showcased stalls with entertaining activities, ranging from foosball and acrylic tattoos to handmade bookmarks and live caricatures. Pitch Perfect, the entrepreneurial pitching competition, saw participants from various institutes including University of Mumbai, IIT BHU, IIT Hyderabad etc., presenting creative ideas. Judges, including esteemed panelists Prof Srividya Raghavan, Prof Sreelekha Mishra, Prof Swapnarag Swain, Prof Abu Khalek and our chief guest Mr. Mario Dominic, provided valuable feedback, highlighting the caliber of talent present. Techknights from Buddha Institute of Technology emerged as champions. An intra-quiz competition added an intellectual challenge to the event, with Team Gnocci among MBA students emerging victorious. The sponsors of the event were Nabard, Startup Bihar, Universal Sampo General Insurance, Choice International and Flyup(RDB India).
The Youth Entrepreneurship Summit’s main objective is to nurture entrepreneurial leadership among students. IIM Bodh Gaya has been organizing this summit for five years.
