Deepak Bhardwaj, a student of MSc Physics from the Department of Physics and Photonics Science at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hamirpur, has created history by bagging a scholarship worth Rs 2 crore from the University of Bristol. Deepak Bhardwaj will use the scholarship amount to pursue his PhD abroad.
Deepak hails from Haryana’s Panipat, Haryana. He will be conducting research in Quantum Engineering for four years. Deepak’s achievement is historic because this is the highest amount awarded to any student at NIT Hamirpur.
Deepak will conduct his research in the field of Quantum Engineering under the guidance of Professor George Barrett and he will be awarded over Rs 2 crore for his research in Quantum Engineering. Deepak is very happy after receiving the scholarship and has expressed his gratitude towards the faculty members at NIT Hamirpur. During his PhD, Deepak Bhardwaj will study Ultra-Cold Alkali Atom with Shaken Lattice Interferometer.
Head of Physics and Photonics Department Dr Kuldeep Sharma praised Deepak for his incredible achievement and said that Deepak has bagged the highest scholarship in the history of NIT. Prof. HM Suryavanshi, Director of NIT-Hamirpur, also expressed happiness over Deepak Bhardwaj’s scholarship and said that Deepak will bring laurels to NIT Hamirpur.
Established in 1984, National Institute of Technology Hamirpur (NIT Hamirpur or NITH) is a public technical university located in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh. The insitute was first eastablished as a Regional Engineering College and upgraded to NIT in 2003 by the parliament of India.
