
Kashi Tamil Sangham 3.0: BHU’s glorious legacy, scientific achievement, and knowledge traditions on display at Namo Ghat Exhibition

As the city continues to immerse itself into the confluence of the great cultures and civilizations of Kashi and Kanchi, Banaras Hindu University is celebrating this momentous occasion by putting up a special exhibition at Namo Ghat. The university is displaying its glorious legacy, scientific achievements, research and innovation as well as knowledge traditions at the exhibition.
The Institute of Medical Sciences' Ayurvedic Pharmacy section has set up displays of medicines, while the Dravyaguna Department is exhibiting the medicinal plants used in Ayurvedic Medicine formulations. The KriyaSharir Department demonstrated the Prakriti and Nadi Pariksha explaining the diet according to the individual's body constitution.
The key attraction of the exhibit is the hydrogen stove and hydrogen-powered motorcycle, developed by the Department of Physics, Institute of Science. Representatives of the department are demonstrating the functioning of the stove and motorcycle. The prototype “H2 Vehicle” utilizes advanced hydrogen fuel cell technology, offering zero-carbon emission, bringing Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam's dream of Kashi as a "Hydrogen City" closer to reality.
Institute of Agricultural Sciences is also presenting its research innovations and BHU hybrid seeds which have helped the farmers by increasing their agricultural productivity.
The Faculty of Dental Sciences is presenting dental care solutions, including all prophylactic treatments such as restorations for dental caries, microsurgical procedures, and scaling and root planing for periodontal diseases. Their exhibition also highlights modern dental procedures such as root canal treatments, dental implants, and onlays and inlays.
Additionally, the exhibition features special paintings by the Faculty of Visual Arts, aligned with the theme of Kashi Tamil Sangamam 3.0, focusing on the sage Agastya. Other highlights of the exhibition are the groundbreaking DNA research by the Department of Zoology and interesting DNA comics created by the scientists and researchers of the Centre for Genetic Disorders.
