The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad is inviting applications for internships under its Summer Undergraduate Research Exposure (SURE) scheme. The SURE internship is slated to be held between May and July for a minimum period of one month and a maximum of two months’ duration. Candidates can register at the IIT Hyderabad’s SURE website by March 10.
This internship by IIT Hyderabad can be availed by 200 interns. According to the official website, 50 seats are reserved exclusively for girls.
Candidates shortlisted will get Rs 15,000 for two months’ internship, while it is Rs 7,500 per month per intern and Rs 10,000 for interns choosing to do the internship for one-and-a-half month. Interns can choose one option: one month duration, one and a half month duration, or complete two months duration. No other amount/benefit shall be applicable, the institute stated.
The selection procedure consists of a preliminary screening of applications followed by an interview (online mode) department/mentor faculty wise at the option of the concerned department. The list of the candidates shortlisted will tentatively be announced on April 15.
IIT Hyderabad SURE Internship: Eligibility
Only non-IIT Hyderabad students with these eligibilities can apply:
– Should be a first year MSc (maths, physics, chemistry or biology), or an MA first year or second or third year BTech or BDes (all branches), or a third or fourth year integrated BTech/ MTech programme.
– Applicants should be among the top 20 per cent based on CGPA or percent score in all the previous years in his/her discipline in the college and to be certified by the Head of the Institute/Principal at the time of the application.
– The applicant should be a full-time or regular student at the time of application and till the completion of the internship.
– The applicant should be able to work full time (minimum one month) for the internship. Part-time or online internship is not allowed.
While hostel accommodation for the interns will be provided in IITH student hostels, the mess charges will have to be borne by the interns.
