A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Marqueesemi India Pvt. Ltd. and Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar on 2nd May 2023 at the School of the Electrical Sciences, IIT Bhubaneswar.
The MoU enables establishment of Chair Professor and Centre for Excellence in System-on-Chip (SoC) at the School of the Electrical Sciences. The collaboration is in the areas of Chip design and Fabrication, FPGA-based validation and AI/ML Applications. In addition, MoU enables students exchange, joint R&D projects, intellectual property(IP) development etc. This MoU will further strengthen skill development programs in the state of Odisha in the areas semiconductors, VLSI design etc.
On this occasion, Prof Shreepad Karmalkar, Director of the institute expressed his happiness on the initiative for creating the platform for collaboration including creation of the Chair Professor position. Prof S R Samantaray, Head of the School, School of Electrical Sciences said that the School is stressing on the semiconductor technology which is one of the major vertical including other emerging areas such as Energy and Smart Grid, Next Generation Communication and High Performance Computing etc. The school has already received Chip-to-Start-up (C2S) approval from ministry of IT and Communications (MeitY) which will further the semiconductor activities.
The MoU signing ceremony is attended and signed by Prof. Dinakar Pasla, Dean (SRIC) and Mr. Umesh Mohanty, Head of India Operations, Marqueesemi in presence of Head of the School of Electrical Sciences, Prof. S. R. Samantaray, Associate Head, Dr. Vijay Shankar P. and Faculty members of the school. A team led by Mr. Mukesh Sukala, Head, R&D Programs of Marqueesemi, and Mr. Pradeep Chimalapati, Director, Business Development of Marqueesemi were also present.
