IIM Ranchi Welcomes MBA, MBA-BA, MBA-HR Batch of 2024-26 with Inspiring Induction Program

IIM Ranchi commenced its formal induction program for the MBA, MBA-BA, MBA-HR Batch of 2024-26 and PhD Batch of 2024-28 with a grand ceremony, marked by insightful addresses and a warm welcome. The event began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director of IIM Ranchi, and the esteemed Chief Guest, Swami Atmapriyananda Ji, Vice Chancellor of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University.
In his opening address, Prof. Srivastava congratulated the new entrants and spoke on the importance of management education, having a multidisciplinary approach, and the need for student-centric skills. He highlighted the importance of logical reasoning, social intelligence, and the ability to integrate knowledge across various disciplines. Prof. Srivastava also discussed the institute’s academic areas, mentioning the seven academic areas and new initiatives such as liberal arts and legal & responsible business areas, aimed at equipping students to handle ethical dilemmas. He encouraged students to engage actively with the institute’s strategic vision and mission. Furthermore, Prof. Srivastava introduced students with the annual merit cum means scholarship and graduate assistantship for economically weaker students, student welfare fund, international exchange programs and other opportunities available to students.
Chief Guest Swami Atmapriyananda, an esteemed academician with a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics, delivered an enlightening address on “managing self for professional excellence). He began with the Shanti Mantra and talked about the simplicity of life, the importance of value-based education. Swami Atmapriyananda emphasized the principles of purity, selflessness, and truthfulness, drawing lessons from the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita. He discussed the impact of sharing knowledge and the sacredness of education, urging students to prioritize the art of listening and humility.
This year IIM Ranchi witnessed 344 MBA, 54 MBA-BA, 58 MBA-HR, 8 PhD registration for the academic year 2024-26. The induction program also included various interactive sessions, team-building activities, and ice-breaking sessions to help the new students get acquainted with each other and the institute. The program focused on instilling a sense of belonging, fostering leadership skills, and promoting a culture of diversity and inclusion.
The induction program was a motivational start for the MBA, MBA-BA, MBA-HR, PhD batch, setting the stage for an enriching journey at IIM Ranchi.
