IIM Ranchi: POMS India International Conference 2024 Concludes with Awards and Valedictory Session


IIM Ranchi marked a historic milestone by hosting one of the largest academic and industry experts in production and operations management gatherings at The POMS India International Conference 2024. 

The third day of the POMS India International Conference 2024 started with track presentations. It concluded on a high note with its Awards and Valedictory Session, celebrating excellence in production and operations management research. The sessions during the conference brought together scholars, industry professionals, and distinguished guests to honor exceptional achievements and mark the culmination of a vibrant three-day conference.

The valedictory session was presided over by Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director IIM Ranchi, along with the conference chairperson Prof. Vijaya Dixit, POMS India Chapter President Prof. Sajeev Abraham, conference co-chairpersons Prof. Rajeev Ranjan Kumar and Prof. Krishna Kumar Dadsena. 

The event began with the presentation of the prestigious Early Career Research Accomplishments Award, established by the POMS India Chapter, to recognize young researchers demonstrating outstanding contributions to the field. This year, Prof. Abhishek Srivastava from the Indian Institute of Management Kashipur was announced as the recipient. He is also the Board Member and Vice-President of the POMS India Chapter. Prof. Srivastava’s groundbreaking research works have been published in leading journals, and his active role in mentoring and community engagement has earned him this recognition. Prof. Bala Shetty, a professor in the Information and Operations Management department at Mays Business School, presented the award. At the same time, Prof. Srivastava delivered a heartfelt acceptance speech, inspiring the audience with insights from his research journey.

Following this, the spotlight turned to the Doctoral Paper Awards, sponsored by Taylor and Francis. Out of 20 submissions to the Doctoral Colloquium, three exemplary papers were selected by colloquium chairpersons Prof. Debjit Roy and Prof. Sriram Narayanan. The winners received certificates and book prizes, acknowledging their contributions to advancing knowledge in production and operations management. 

Prof. Rajeev Ranjan Kumar, co-chairperson of the POMS India International Conference 2024, delivered the closing remarks, reflecting on the conference’s success in fostering collaboration and innovation. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Krishna Kumar Dadsena, co-chairperson of the POMS India International Conference 2024, who acknowledged the efforts of the organizers, sponsors, and participants in making the event a grand success. The Awards and Valedictory Session ended on a patriotic note with the National Anthem, bringing to a close a conference that set new benchmarks in research excellence and academic engagement.
