The Indian Institute of Management, Ranchi, conducted the closing ceremony of the Vigilance Awareness Week 2022, observed from October 31st, 2022, to November 6th, 2022, today. The theme for this year’s VAW was Corruption-free India for a Developed Nation. Mr. Sanjay Kumar Thakur, Chief Manager of Vigilance (part time), CMPDI, was the chief guest for the event. The event began with a welcome and introductory address by Mr. Jayanta Kumar Tripathy, Chief Vigilance Officer of IIM Ranchi.
The Integrity Pledge was administered by the Honorable Director of the institution, Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, who addressed the audience about the factors that lead to corruption, the Corruption Perception Index and the Social Progress Index. He further spoke about some of the initiatives adopted to make the administrative processes at IIM Ranchi more process driven and accountable through the optimum utilisation of information technology. Mr. Sanjay Kumar Thakur, the chief guest for the event, talked about why it was important for today's youth to be aware of the corruption in our society. He also emphasised the importance of introducing anti-corruption practices at the school level and how that would build a strong will among the youth to fight against this social evil.
After the speeches, there was a ceremony to give out prizes to the winners of the debate and elocution contests held as part of Vigilance Awareness Week.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by the Administrative Officer, Mr. Ajay Kumar.
