IIM Ranchi celebrated its 11th Annual Convocation Ceremony


 Indian Institute of Management Ranchi, the ninth member of the prestigious Indian Institutes of Management family, was established on December 15, 2009, under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, under the aegis of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India with the extensive support of the Government of Jharkhand. The Institute has been accorded the status of ‘Institute of National Importance’ by the introduction of the IIM Act 2017.

The 11th Annual Convocation of IIM Ranchi for the batch of 2020-22 was held on Saturday, 22 April 2023, at Swami Vivekanand Auditorium, IIM Ranchi, Prabandhan Nagar, Nayasarai Road, Ranchi. This was the first ever convocation held full-scale in its own permanent campus.

Shri C P Radhakrishnan, Hon'ble Governor of Jharkhand, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and delivered the convocation address. Shri Anand Kripalu, MD and Global CEO of Blackstone – EPL Ltd., was the Guest of Honour. The event had the Chairman and Members, Board of Governor, Director, Faculty, Staff, and the graduating students of IIM Ranchi.

The convocation ceremony started with the Academic Procession, followed by National Anthem and Invocation. 

Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director, IIM Ranchi, delivered the Welcome Speech and presented a brief report about the institute. 

Prof. Srivastava extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, Shri C P Radhakrishnan, Hon'ble Governor of Jharkhand; Guest of Honour, Shri Anand Kripalu, MD and Global CEO of Blackstone – EPL Ltd. and Shri Praveen Shankar Pandya, Chairman, Board of Governors, IIM Ranchi. He shared that the institute has completely shifted to the permanent campus, which has the most modern facilities supported by the digital infrastructure. He said that the importance of campus experience for any educational institute is immense.

He congratulated the students on graduating from one of the top B-School and wished them a bright future. He expressed his gratitude to the Chairman and Members of the Board of Governors for their direction and advice, which has helped in giving a new direction to IIM Ranchi towards academic excellence.

Prof. Srivastava advised the students:

  1. Spend some time and energy enhancing the lives of those who are less fortunate. God helps you when you help others;
  2. Try to be happy. If you want be more productive at work, get happy. Research shows happy workers are more productive;
  3. Cultivate the Experimental Mindset: It is impossible to predict what will work and what will not. Constant experimentation is necessary. You will learn something new and improve your readiness for the next challenge with each experiment.
