IIM Jammu inks pact with IICA for collaboration in various areas


The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu has signed a pact with the Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Govt. of India for collaboration in various areas, including the offering of joint courses. The MoU was signed at IICA Campus, Manesar, Gurugram today. i.e., 16th Sept 2022. The MoU was signed by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director IIM Jammu, and Shri Praveen Kumar, IAS, Director General & CEO, IICA. 

The MoU between IIM Jammu and IICA is intended to establish a partnership for training, education, consulting, research, and advocacy initiatives in the following indicative areas of corporate law, corporate governance, corporate communication, business innovation and entrepreneurship, business environment, public policy, inclusive and sustainable development, and any other area mutually decided by the two institutions from time to time. The MoU will also be offering long-term joint programs, certificate programs, short-term training programs, offering Joint Ph.D. programs, joint seminars, conferences, workshops, collaboration for promoting entrepreneurship and incubations, and the establishment of centers of excellence.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu says, “The MoU provides for IIM Jammu to recognize IICA as a research center for the purpose of conducting doctoral degree (Ph.D.) and post-doctoral fellowship. This MoU will also explore the areas of mutual interest to offer Degree Programs like MBA in Corporate Affairs, EMBA in Valuation in Blended Mode, Ph.D. in Corporate Affairs and related areas, executive training programs, management development programs,  and submission of joint research proposals to different Ministries for research grants and establishing of centers of excellence, collaborating for entrepreneurship and incubation thereby leading to meaningful outcomes in the interest of both organizations and  paving the path for the creation of a healthy business ecosystem in the nation.”

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Praveen Kumar, Director General & CEO, IICA says, “The indicative areas of collaboration include offering long-term joint courses and awarding degrees, diplomas, and certificates on contemporary issues at the intersection of business management and corporate affairs including the understanding of high performance in research, training, capacity building, advisory, organizing of various programs  ranging from conferences, seminars, symposia, and lecture series  through this MoU will surely lead to the creation of a positive, healthy environment for business innovation, excellence, entrepreneurship for a sustainable development in the nation.”
