IIM Jammu Inaugurated the Fourth batch of Nurturing Future Leadership Program

Under the Aegis of The Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India 18th Nov 2024. The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu inaugurated the Fourth batch of Nurturing Future Leadership Program, Under the Aegis of, “The Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme” in an inaugural session held at its permanent campus in Jagti on 18th Nov 2024.
The leadership training program is one of the unique residential programs designed to develop the leadership skills of educators at different levels and create a pool of potential leaders for generational transition. The program, scheduled from 18th to 22nd November 2024, will be conducted by the faculty of IIM Jammu to help institutions evaluate and enhance the leadership potential of their faculty members. Prof. B. S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, presided over the inaugural ceremony on the online mode. The fourth batch consisted of 37 participants from Institutes across India and is fully funded by Ministry of Education, Govt. of India.
Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, welcomed participants to the program, highlighting IIM Jammu’s role as a premier management institution committed to excellence and innovation in education. He emphasized the importance of active engagement, encouraging participants to connect with fellow educators and IIM Jammu faculty. He marked the day as a significant milestone in advancing educational excellence and leadership development. He praised the transformative initiative by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, aimed at cultivating academic leaders as agents of positive change. He also addressed the acute shortage of leadership in academia, reiterating that teaching is a noble profession with a profound impact on students’ lives. During his remarks, he encouraged participants to explore IIM Jammu’s state-of-the-art infrastructure at IIM Jammu, and actively participate in interactive discussions. He urged them to share challenges faced at their institutions to foster open dialogue and collaborative solutions. Concluding his address, he expressed enthusiasm for meeting participants personally and wished them a productive and enriching experience at IIM Jammu.
The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp and a welcome address by Dr. Ateeque Shaikh, Program Director, and Chairperson, Executive Education & Consultancy (EE &C), IIM Jammu, who welcomed participants to the Nurturing Future Leadership Program, highlighting its role in developing academic leaders. He provided an overview of IIM Jammu’s Executive Education and Consulting initiatives and outlined the sessions ahead.
Present on the occasion were Dr. Anuja Akhouri, faculty, IIM Jammu. The residential training program will be divided into four broad themes, such as leadership, communication, skill development, and recent government initiatives, and will feature four sessions each for the next five days. These sessions will include lectures, interactive workshops, group discussions, case studies, role-plays, and practical exercises to ensure active engagement and application of concepts.
Participants will also have the opportunity to network with prominent experts from reputed Institutions and IIM Jammu faculty. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Pratik Maheshwari, Program Director and Co-Chairperson Executive Education and Consultancy, IIM Jammu on Online mode. Finally, the inaugural program culminated with the National Anthem, filling the room with a sense of unity and pride.
