Indian Institute of Management Jammu organized a Plantation Drive at its Jagti Campus and Cleanliness Drive in Nagrota area on 13th October 2025 as part of the celebration of Sewa Parv. The event was held under the leadership of Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and staff members.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Shyam Narayan Lal, Chairperson, Anandam and Media and Publication Division, said that such initiatives instill a deep sense of social responsibility and empathy among students, encouraging them to contribute positively to their surroundings. He added that Sewa Parv serves as a reminder of the importance of collective action for environmental protection and societal well-being.

Dr. Manu Bansal, Co-Chairperson, Student Affairs, IIM Jammu, emphasized that such initiatives reflect IIM Jammu’s strong commitment to community development and environmental stewardship. He mentioned that engaging students in activities like plantation and cleanliness drives helps inculcate values of compassion, teamwork, and responsibility, essential for shaping holistic leaders of tomorrow.

The program witnessed active participation from faculty, officers, staff and students of IIM Jammu. Also present on the occasion were Prof. Shyam Narayan Lal, Chairperson Anandam and Media and Publication Division;  Prof. Sanjay Gupta, Professor of Practice, Dr. Sumit Maheshwari; Dr. Atanu Bhuyan and Dr. Dhirendra Prajapati, faculty, IIM Jammu.

The plantation drive took place opposite Annapurna at the Jagti Campus, where numerous saplings were planted to promote environmental consciousness and sustainability. The initiative aligns with IIM Jammu’s commitment to contributing towards a greener and healthier future.

As part of the Sewa Parv celebrations, the students of IIM Jammu also visited the nearby town of Nagrota, where they actively participated in a cleanliness drive. The activity aimed to raise awareness about hygiene, cleanliness, and community engagement, reflecting the spirit of service and responsibility toward society.

The event exemplified IIM Jammu’s ongoing efforts to nurture socially responsible leaders who not only excel academically but also uphold the values of service, sustainability, and nation-building. The event is being coordinated by office of the student affairs, IIM Jammu.
