Global Applied Mathematics Conference RAAM 2026 at IIT Hyderabad, Brought Together Global Mathematics Community

The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) has hosted the 4th International Conference on Recent Advances in Applied Mathematics (RAAM 2026) from July 6–8, 2026, bringing together leading Mathematicians, Researchers, Academicians, and Young scholars from across the globe to discuss emerging developments in Applied Mathematics and its transformative role in Science, Engineering, Healthcare, Artificial Intelligence, and technology.

Organised by the Department of Mathematics, IIT Hyderabad, the three-day international conference has witnessed an overwhelming global response, receiving more than 700 research paper submissions from over 190 institutions across 13 countries spanning four continents. Nearly half of the participating institutions are India's premier Centrally Funded Technical Institutions, including IITs, IISc, IISERs, NITs, IIITs, and Central Universities, making RAAM 2026 one of the largest international gatherings in Applied Mathematics hosted by IIT Hyderabad.
The conference was inaugurated by Prof. B S Murty, Director, IIT Hyderabad, in the presence of Prof. P. V. S. N. Murthy, IIT Kharagpur, Guest of Honour; Prof. G. Ramesh, Head, Department of Mathematics and Chairman, RAAM 2026, IIT Hyderabad; and conveners Prof. C. S. Sastry, Prof. Vikas Krishnamurthy, and Prof. Jyotirmoy Rana, IIT Hyderabad.

RAAM 2026 serves as a premier international platform for presenting cutting-edge research across diverse areas of Applied Mathematics, including Mathematical modelling, Computational Mathematics, Optimisation, Medical imaging, Data Science, Artificial intelligence, Machine learning, and interdisciplinary applications that address contemporary scientific and societal challenges. The conference also provides opportunities for young researchers to interact with globally renowned experts, fostering collaborations that transcend institutional and geographical boundaries.

Speaking at the inaugural session, Prof. B S Murty, Director, IIT Hyderabad, said: "Conferences like RAAM create an ecosystem where ideas from diverse disciplines converge to generate impactful solutions. It is encouraging to witness researchers from across the world coming together to explore applications of Mathematics in emerging areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Healthcare, Advanced Engineering, and data-driven technologies. I hope RAAM 2026 will foster lasting collaborations and inspire the next generation of Scientists."

The conference features keynote lectures by internationally acclaimed Mathematicians, invited talks by distinguished researchers, parallel technical sessions, and presentations by young scholars, providing an important platform for exchanging ideas and showcasing recent advances in Applied Mathematics. Continuing the legacy of previous editions held in Dubai, Varanasi, and Colombo, RAAM 2026 further strengthens IIT Hyderabad's growing reputation as a global destination for high-impact research, international collaboration, and academic excellence in Mathematical Sciences.

The event reflects IIT Hyderabad's continued commitment to advancing interdisciplinary research and creating platforms where Mathematics intersects with Engineering, Computing, Healthcare, and emerging technologies to address real-world challenges. As one of India's fastest-growing technology institutions, IIT Hyderabad continues to foster an ecosystem that brings together academia, industry, and global research communities to drive innovation for societal impact.
