Ensure all facilities, infra for better learning atmosphere, says BHU VC

All the necessary facilities and infrastructure will be ensured for the programs being run by the Banaras Hindu University, said the vice-chancellor Prof Sudhir Kumar Jain.
Chairing a meeting of the directors of the institutes, deans of faculties and senior officers of BHU on Sunday, the VC said that students from various parts of the country and diverse backgrounds take admission in BHU and all possible efforts will be made to fulfill the commitment made to them for providing a better learning atmosphere. He directed the concerned departments and officials to take necessary measures in this regard in a time-bound manner. Making available the required infrastructure for the courses is the university’s responsibility, said the VC.
The meeting also deliberated on the suggestion to run special courses under the faculties having specific expertise. Prof Jain said that operating courses without fully preparing for them is unfair to the students. Various issues pertaining to student welfare, university’s development and related to teaching and research were discussed during the meeting. The VC asked the faculty members to timely complete evaluation of answer sheets. The university is working on regularising the semester to address delays in examinations and other aspects of the semester, he said urging the directors and deans to take measures on their end to address the issue so that students don’t have to suffer.
The VC said that the university is striving towards creating new opportunities and facilities for its members. Several new initiatives have been launched under the Institution of Eminence (IoE) BHU scheme and many more are in the pipeline, said prof Jain.
The VC suggested that the deans or heads should come up with proposals to develop infrastructure and facilities in their respective faculties or departments. The university administration will provide all kinds of support and funds, he added
The controller of examinations Prof NK Mishra spoke about the ongoing admission process, and said that steps are being taken to make the admission process hassle free. Prof Sanjay Kumar, coordinator, IoE, BHU, made a presentation about the progress of various schemes taken under the initiative.
The meeting was attended by the Rector Prof VK Shukla, registrar, Prof Arun Kumar Singh, finance officer, Abhay Thakur, dean of students, Prof Anupam Kumar Nema, chief proctor, Prof Abhimanyu Singh and other senior officials of the university.
Sanskrit conversation workshop: 15-day Sanskrit conversation workshop organised under the joint auspices of the department of Dharmshastra Mimamsa of Banaras Hindu University and Sanskrit Bharati began in the faculty of Sanskrit Vidya Dharm Vigyan on August 5.
