CBSE issues advisory as Edtech firm uses fake letter to secure contracts; warns of legal action

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued an advisory against fraudulent activity by one Edtech company.

In a letter to its affiliated schools, the CBSE has urged the principals to remain alert to such malpractices and ensure the preservation of the sanctity of the education ecosystem.

The advisory was issued after the CBSE found that a company named Wizcorp Edtech Pvt.Ltd has been allegedly using a letter, falsely attributed to the Board to secure various government tenders and contracts within schools. Such malpractice was detected particularly within the schools located in the state of Maharashtra.

“CBSE would like to categorically state that it has no connection whatsoever with the letter being circulated by Wizcorp Edtech Pvt. Ltd. The letter in question has never been issued by CBSE and any representative suggesting otherwise is fraudulent and misleading,” CBSE said in its letter.

The board further clarified that it cannot be held accountable for any financial or other losses incurred due to the consideration or acceptance of this fake and counterfeit letter.

“All schools and educational institutions are urged to exercise caution in their interactions with Wizcorp Edtech Pvt. Ltd. CBSE shall be actively pursuing legal action against Wizcorp Edtech Pvt. Ltd. for misleading information and the circulation of a fabricated counterfeit letter,” the CBSE letter added.
