Bihar Governor cum Chancellor Shri Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar presided over the Senate meeting of BRA Bihar University. This meeting was organized to discuss various academic and administrative matters related to the university. During the meeting the Governor stressed the importance of academic excellence and research in the university. He urged the faculty members and students to actively engage in research and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in their respective fields. Governor Shri Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar said that there is a golden opportunity to connect with our culture and land through education.

Discussing the education system of Bihar, he said that Nalanda University here was an important center of education at the international level. Thousands of students from foreign countries used to come to get education. Bihar should become such a center of education that students from foreign countries come again to study in Bihar. He said that delay in session is a big problem in the universities of Bihar and the main reason for this is outsourcing of works like admission, result publication and certificate printing. He said that due to dependence on external agencies in UMIS, examinations and results are not being conducted on time and the agencies are also taking huge profits.

Instructing the university administration to develop its own software, he said that with this the university will not be dependent on anyone else for admission and other work and will also save money. The Governor also directed to hold a separate meeting of the Senate dedicated to educational discussions and said that the Senate members also have the responsibility of ensuring educational quality. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Chandra Rai said that during the tenure of one and a half months, the university administration has taken many initiatives towards improving the educational environment. He said that with the aim of promoting research, academic agreements have been signed with five good universities and  for agreement with five others are in the final stages. To improve the work culture, working hours should be reduced from 10 to 5, employees stuck at one place for years should be sent to another place, one person should be implemented as per the instructions of Raj Bhavan and the most senior professor of the college should be given the responsibility of principal in-charge in a transparent manner. Giving etc. is included. He said that in his action plan for the next one year, ensuring adherence to financial discipline in the university is the most important thing. The university administration has intensified efforts towards NAAC evaluation and the uploading process will be completed by March. Vice Chancellor Prof. Rai said that under the guidance of the Honorable Chancellor, the University Administration will make every possible effort to achieve academic excellence. And he has full confidence that the university will achieve new academic heights.

In the meeting, members Prof. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Prof. Narendra Prasad Singh, LS College Principal Prof. Omprakash Roy, Kesari Kumar, Prof. Shivanand Singh, Dr. Harendra Kumar etc. congratulated Vice Chancellor Prof. Rai for the efforts being made for educational reforms. Barring a few, almost all the agenda items were approved in the meeting. On some agenda items, the Governor and Vice Chancellor Prof. Rai talked about investigation and further action. Before the Senate meeting, the Governor inaugurated the VVIP guest house of the university. This guest house will provide accommodation for dignitaries and special guests visiting the university. Besides, the Research Journal was also released by the Department of Political Science in the meeting. University officials, Senate members and other invited guests were present at the Senate meeting. The Senate meeting was hosted by Registrar Prof. Sanjay Kumar and Proctor Prof. BS Rai delivered the vote of thanks.
