BHU gears up for the 102nd Convocation, Faculties inform students to send acceptance for attending the ceremony

Banaras Hindu University is gearing up for its 102nd Convocation scheduled for Saturday, 10th December, 2022. The main function of the convocation will take place at Swatantrata Bhawan from 10.00 am onwards. The convocation is taking place after a gap of almost three years due to the global pandemic Covid-19. The main function will see the presentation of 81 medals in different categories for 2020, 2021 and 2022. A total of 35832 degrees for D.Litt., Ph.D., M.Phil., Postgraduate and Undergraduate will be awarded to the students who have passed their degrees in the years 2020 (11750), 2021 (12032) and 2022 (12050) at the functions across institutes/faculties.
BHU alumnus and Chairman & CEO of Palo Alto Networks, Mr. Nikesh Arora will deliver the convocation address this year. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (1985 – 1989) from the Institute of Technology, BHU, which is now IIT-BHU. Expressing gratitude, Mr. Arora said he was deeply humbled and honored to be invited to BHU, visit the holy city and meet the graduates from BHU at the 102nd convocation.
Meanwhile, institutes and faculties have informed the students to email their acceptance to attend the convocation on respective emails provided to them. Students may contact the concerned office of the faculty for more details. There is a prescribed Academic Costume for the convocation which the students sport when they receive their degrees.
The Graduands have also been requested to register themselves on the newly launched alumni portal of Banaras Hindu University. The new portal has been launched with an objective to connect to the massive alumni base of BHU for the varsity’s growth and development. The portal can be accessed through a link on BHU website or the address www.alumni.bhu.ac.in. The new portal has been designed keeping in mind the diversity and vastness of the alumni base of Banaras Hindu University. It will help the university better organize, manage and maintain relations with its alumni. It will also help alumni to connect with each other on the basis of their batches, hobbies, cities and locations and common interests.
