Banaras Hindu University’s MCA alumni donate to Establish New Scholarship


Banaras Hindu University’s MCA alumni from the 1997 to 2001 batches have made a generous donation of Rs. Five Lakh to establish a new scholarship. A delegation of 14 alumni met with Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sudhir Kumar Jain on Thursday and presented the donation cheque. The donation will be used to institute a scholarship for the Computer Science Students. 

During the meeting with the Vice-Chancellor, the alumni fondly reminisced their student days on the campus and offered valuable suggestions with regard to the growth and development of both the students and the university. They said that there are many areas where they can significantly contribute in addressing the challenges faced by the university. Praising the Pratidana initiative launched by BHU under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Suhdir Kumar Jain, members of the alumni said that the scheme is playing a key role in strengthening the bond between former students and the university. They reaffirmed their commitment to BHU’s progress, offering to contribute wherever needed. 

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sudhir Kumar Jain shared with the alumni the strides made by the university with regard to student development. He said that thousands of students have been imparted leadership and life skills training under the university’s initiatives aimed at preparing students for future career challenges. He emphasized that the positive transformation is clearly visible in the student’s personalities and approaches to their work. Prof. Jain also pointed to the university’s steady progress in capacity building and creation of new opportunities. He encouraged the alumni to stay connected with BHU, stressing that their experience and expertise could greatly benefit the university and its students. He suggested that alumni visit the campus whenever possible as this will strengthen their bond with their alma mater. Finance Office Manoj Pandey and Adviser (Alumni Relations), Prof. Ramesh Chand were also present during the meeting.
