Assam University In 101-150 Rank Band Of NIRF University Rankings, NIT Silchar Ranked 40 In Engineering

The Minister of State for Education and External Affairs, Rajkumar Ranjan Singh released the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2023 today. The rankings can be accessed on the official website nirfindia.org.
IIT Madras was ranked 1st in the overall category of NIRF rankings. It was also ranked 1st among the engineering institutes in the country while the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru was ranked 1st in the University rankings.
Assam University was ranked in the 101-150 band of University rankings. Note that the NIRF does not assign any particular rank to institutes or universities which fail to get a position in the top 100. In the overall category, Assam University was ranked in the 151-200 band. Tezpur University which was established in the same year as Assam University ranked 69 in the University rankings.
NIT Silchar ranked 40 among Engineering institutes in the country while it’s rank in the overall category was 83. This is a stark contrast from Assam University which couldn’t even secure a rank among Universities in the top 100.
Another institute of Assam, IIT Guwahati was ranked 9 in the overall category of NIRF rankings as well as among research institutes while it’s rank among Engineering institutes was 7. Of all institutes in Assam, IIT Guwahati fetched the best rank in both the overall category as well as among Engineering and research institutes.
