Advisor to the Lt. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, IPS (Retd.) along with his spouse Smt Manu Bhatnagar, graced the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu with a visit on April 30th, 2024, engaging in a fruitful dialogue with the faculty, officers and staff of the Institute. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen collaboration and explore avenues for mutual growth between the government and academia.
Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, warmly welcomed him and led a campus tour, showcasing the institution's academic and infrastructural excellence. During his time at the institute, Shri Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar participated in insightful interactions with the esteemed faculty members of IIM Jammu at the Kashyap Classroom. The exchange of ideas and perspectives between the Advisor and the faculty was marked by a spirit of collaboration and innovation.
Shri Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, IPS (Retd.), Advisor to the Lt. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, expressed deep admiration for the architectural marvel created amidst the Trikuta Hills by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu and his team during his visit to the Institute. He described his experience as truly life-changing and emphasized the immense promise held by the collaboration between the Govt of J & K and IIM Jammu for the development and progress of the youth in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted the importance of skilling the youth and empowering them to play a pivotal role in transforming Jammu into one of the finest states in the country. He reiterated the timeless value of good education, emphasizing that his visit to IIM Jammu had reaffirmed this belief. He also commended the state-of-the-art infrastructure, smart classrooms, vibrant library, and unique atmosphere at IIM Jammu, noting that they had left a lasting impression on him.
Shri Kumar Rajeev Ranjan, IAS, Administrative Secretary of the Department of Skill Development, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, commended Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director of IIM Jammu, for the remarkable feat of constructing such a masterpiece of architecture within the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in a record time of three years. He described the institute as a paradise among IIMs, acknowledging its exceptional contribution to the region's landscape.

He emphasized the institute's readiness to provide full support to the youth, as well as facilitate economic and entrepreneurship development for the U.T of Jammu and Kashmir. He expressed gratitude for Shri R.R. Bhatnagar's invaluable insights and guidance, recognizing his invaluable support to IIM Jammu in driving excellence in education and research.
Reflecting on the significance of the engagement, Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Academics at IIM Jammu, noted that Shri R.R. Bhatnagar's visit provided a platform to align academic pursuits with the region's developmental objectives, anticipating leveraging this partnership for comprehensive advancement.
Present on the occasion was Cmdr Kesavan Baskkaran, Chief Administrative Officer, along with the faculty, officers, and staff of the Institute. Following the interaction, Shri Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, IPS (Retd.), Advisor to the Lt. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir also had an informal gathering with the faculty, officers, and staff, where they came together to celebrate the birthdays of those born in April. The atmosphere was light-hearted as they shared anecdotes and experiences, turning the occasion into a cultural get-together.
