25th Muzaffarpur District Inter-School Open Athletics Championship Kicks Off with Grand Inauguration

The 25th Muzaffarpur District Inter School Open Athletics Championship 2024 was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor of BRA Bihar University, Prof. Dinesh Chandra Rai, at LS College Ground today organised by Vivekanand Krida Evam Yoga Sansthan. The event saw the participation of athletes from various schools and clubs in the Muzaffarpur district.The athletics championship featured various track and field events including sprints, long jump, high jump, javelin throw, and relay races. Athletes showcased their skills and talents in front of a large audience who gathered to witness the sporting extravaganza.
The athletics championship will feature various sports and a total of 78 events in two days (25-26 October) with 234 medals up for grabs. A total of 2500 athletes from 87 schools and clubs are participating in the meet, making it one of the largest athletic events in the region. The event aims to promote sports and athletics at the grassroots level and provide a platform for young athletes to showcase their talent. After Inaguration addressing the athletes VC Prof. Dinesh Chandra Rai praised the participants for their dedication and sportsmanship, and encouraged them to continue pursuing their passion for athletics. He emphasized the importance of sports in overall development and urged the youth to actively participate in such events. VC Prof. Rai emphasized the positive impact of school-level athletics championships on enhancing sports at the university level. This focus on grassroots sports development is vital for creating a robust sporting culture that can benefit universities in the long run.
Talking on the career in sports VC Prof. Rai said, with the increasing popularity of sports and the rise of professional leagues and events, there are numerous avenues for individuals to pursue a successful career in sports. Prof. Rai highlighted the importance of dedication, hard work, and specialized training to excel in this competitive field. He encouraged students to explore and take advantage of the various career paths in sports and to pursue their dreams with determination and enthusiasm. Lauding Organiser Vivekand Krida Evam Yoga Sansthanand and its President, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sinha and former Director, Sports and Youth Affairs, Govt. of Bihar, Prof. Roy said that the academy provided a platform for young athletes to showcase their talent and compete at a high level. Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sinha's dedication and hard work in organizing the event were truly commendable.
Welcoming the guests, Prof. Ompraksh Roy, Principal LS College said in his address sports have the power to unite people from different backgrounds and bring communities together, making it a fulfilling and rewarding career choice. This event will not only promote sportsmanship and healthy competition but also help in identifying and nurturing budding talents in various sports. Kudos to Vivekand sansthan and its President Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sinha for their efforts in promoting sports and encouraging the youth to excel in their respective fields.
Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sinha in his address praised LS college Principal Prof. Ompraksh Roy for providing LS college ground for the event, then only this mega event was possible on this larger scale. He said the championship is set to be a competitive and exciting event, with athletes from across Muzaffarpur district and beyond coming together to compete in various track and field events. The organizers are hoping that the event will help discover and nurture the next generation of sporting talent in the region. The 25th Muzaffarpur District Inter School Open Athletics Championship 2024 will be a hugely successful event that provided a platform for athletes to showcase their talent and compete in a spirit of healthy competition. The organizers and participants were lauded for their efforts in making the event a grand success.He hoped that the event will help discover and nurture the next generation of sporting talent in the region and help make Muzaffarpur a sporting hub of Bihar. Dr. Sinha also thanked sponsors for their generous support.
Shri Rakesh Kumar, DIG, CRPF, Muzaffarpur and Prof. Mamta Rani, Principal, RBBM College also addressed the participants. The event was graced by eminent sports personalities, local dignitaries, and members of the organizing committee, including Dr. Shartendu Shekhar, Vivek Kumar, Shashank Shekhar, Dr. Kantesh Kumar, Dr. Navin Kumar, Anil Kumar Sinha, Pankaj Kumar, Lalji Kumar,Mahendra Prasad among others.
